In 2022 planning permission was achieved at Committee for the redevelopment of a prominent High Street site to provide a part three, four and five storey building consisting of ground floor commercial retail and office/workshop floorspace (Class E), with 40 residential units. There were multiple pressures on the site including residential amenity for existing residences to the rear of the site, the proximity of the site to noise generating high street uses and its proximity to the existing Royal Mail sorting office.
The planning strategy included multiple pre-application meetings with the Council and presentations to Members.
