Proposed Development:

NTR planning has been working closely with Varndean Sixth Form College in Brighton for over 15 years, advising on a variety of different projects across the campus and enabling the College to get the most out of their existing accommodation in the face of limited funding from Central Government.

Most recently, following close and extensive consultation with the College, the local community and the Local Planning Authority, we successfully secured outline planning permission in 2023 for a 5-phase, campus wide masterplan project. The permitted scheme will allow for replacement of all of the College’s existing temporary accommodation with permanent, modern and fit-for-purpose educational facilities comprising a new teaching block, entrance/administration and student café and a sports hall which will be available for use by the community and local sports clubs outside of College hours.

This project is set to deliver significant improvements for all students and, crucially, also delivers key accessibility enhancements across this topographically challenging site for students and staff with reduced mobility.
