Proposed Development:

Planning permission was originally secured on behalf of Carl Bechstein (London) Ltd in 2021 for a new recital venue (Bechstein Hall), piano showroom and apartments above within an existing and extended mansion block. After an absence of over 100 years, this new premier venue within the UK for Bechstein Pianos marked a symbolic return of Bechstein to Wigmore Street in London, a location historically synonymous with both the manufacture of pianos and music recital, the ambition being to create a new centre of musical excellence.
